After training as an architect at the Architectural Association School in London (AAdip, 2012), Ruohong Wu began working as a multidisciplinary researcher. Whether considering an object, a research study, a space, or an action, her work revolves around a single concept: ‘take it without apologizing’ or appropriation. The intention is to challenge established disciplines and paradigms, employing the strategy of replicating, parasitizing, and mutating standardized production systems, cultural politics, and spatial typologies.
Since 2022, Ruohong has furtherly explored her artistic approach through the PhD research, Sturtevant: Copy as Original, Artists as Medium, supervised by Professor Emilio Tuñón at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.
In 2013, Ruohong co-founded This Was a Project, but We Have Forgotten What It Was with artist José Quintanar. The project explores independent research and publishing as a means of archive and public assembly.
